Salt Block Cooking is so Easy!
Here’s a fun little appetizer I whipped up last night using my salt block. Place block into a 400 degree oven for 20 or so minutes. Basically it needs to be really hot! Clean shrimp and dry off. Toss with lime olive oil and freshly ground pepper. NO SALT as they will pick up a hint of salt flavor from the stone. Remove salt from oven and place on wooden board. Quickly place shrimp on stone and time for 2 minutes each side. Hear them sizzle! That’s right, they cook right on the counter, serious! Place one shrimp into heated phyllo cup with pesto – may put phyllo and pesto in hot oven near the end of the 20 minutes to warm up. Enjoy!
