January 15 is National Bagel Day but don’t let that stop you from making them every day! If you are not familiar with the Everything Bagel seasoning, buy it on this link for Olde Thompson. I found mine at Costco and Trader Joe’s. Don’t have an air fryer? Consider buying one! I received mine as a gift and it is fantastic!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose, unbleached flour + more for dusting work surface
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons flaxseeds (found at Sprouts)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg plus a splash of water, beaten
  • "Everything Bagel" seasoning (combo of sesame seeds, salt, garlic, onion, black sesame seeds and poppy seeds)

Method

Step 1

Preheat your Ninja air fryer to 300 degrees while preparing ingredients.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, onion and garlic powders. Add in flaxseeds and mix. Add Greek yogurt and mix until combined. Shape into a ball.

Step 3

Sprinkle extra flour on a cutting board or work surface and roll the dough ball in it until it is no longer sticky. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each one in the flour.

Step 4

Now roll each ball into a 10-inch rope and connect the ends to form a circle. Sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning over top and gently press into the dough.

Step 5

Brush the egg wash over each bagel on all sides. Sprinkle more seasoning over tops and sides, pressing gently.

Step 6

Using the basket in the air fryer, carefully place bagels on it without touching each other. Air fry for 12 - 15 minutes. Mine were finished in 13 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and toasting. Serve with mascarpone and jam or whatever you like!
