Tailgating 101

Tailgating before a Red Rocks concert is the ultimate experience but you must be prepared. As you can see from the photo, this was not my first rodeo! I will share with you all the things that we bring in order to make it a success. Bring layers of clothing as well! This was a first wearing a turtleneck and down vest in June! Gotta love our Colorado weather!

  1. propane grill with extra tanks, just in case! lighter
  2. chairs and table
  3. food and drinks in unbreakable containers
  4. napkins and cutlery. tie them in rafia if you want to be fancy! paper plates
  5. cooking utensils – tongs, spatula, heat-proof gloves
  6. condiments – ketchup and mustard this time
  7. trash and recycling bags

What was this fantastic menu, you ask? Well! We enjoyed Caprese Kabobs drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar for the appetizer. Dinner was Grilled Peppers, Onions, Garlic and Avocado wrapped in foil. They were grilled at home in the air fryer and just heated up on the grill. The Bison Burgers were stuffed with Cambozola Cheese and served on Hawaiian buns. Desert – easy to figure that out!

I hope you have the opportunity to tailgate at Red Rocks sometime and find my tips to be helpful. As always, use them as a guide and make it your own. Keep it eclectic!
